The Ventura County Medical Explorer Post 911 is an organization centered in Thousand Oaks which gives youth Explorers insight to multiple different medical fields and opportunities for their futures. It is the first medical Post in the county and often partners with other non-profit organizations such as Safe Passage with Los Robles Hospital. The Post is a way for teens interested in any area of science and medicine to explore and further their knowledge about various professions in the medical field. They also provide the Explorers with multiple opportunities such as job shadows and lectures to further their educational experience. They learn a wide range of medical knowledge from basic primary assessment, to hearing from specialized surgeons. The youth not only volunteer at events such as Simi Valley Days and Conejo Valley Days to give them hands on medical response experience, but also teach the public at these events basic techniques such as quality sidewalk CPR. If you are interested in applying, please go to the apply now page for pre-requisites. Thank you for your Interest in the Post 911 program!
